These are the glory days for sumac as their deep crimson red leaves represent a truly remarkable time in their life's journey. At this time of year I am often reminded of the song "Glory Days" sung by Bruce Springsteen. The song speaks to the stories of people who have little to look forward to and want only to relive the glory of their high school days. Looking only into our rear view mirrors may provide a safe place for us to dwell. But if we are not mindful and welcome the beauty and joy of each new day, then Springsteen is right. " LIFE WILL PASS YOU BY." Let us hope we remember the past, but also look forward to the exciting glory days that awaits for each of us in the future.
