American Gold Finches are frequent visitors to my bird feeders where they enjoy black sunflower seeds. Finches molt twice a year. In the fall and winter months you will find their plumage much darker and duller; and in the spring and summer, as pictured above, they become lemon yellow in color. Finches are small in size but have a big voice. Their musical twitter and canary like songs can be heard 365 days a year. Thanks for being a part of my days on Eighty Acres.
