Blowing In The Wind

This week the milkweed seed pods burst open and the silky parachutes were swept away in the breezes and gently landed throughout Eighty Acres. All summer I watched as the milkweed plants hosted numerous bees, wasps, butterflies, and insects who feasted on this important nectar source.. But now the milkweed plants are old, their journey completed. But the Earth Mother is wise, and the next generation of milkweed is simply blowing in the wind.
